During this course you will interact with other learners who are just like you; business professionals who want to improve their English communication skills and cross cultural knowledge in order to work internationally!
You will also meet your Coach who at the end of each module will help you apply what you have learned.
If you are learning with Excedo Care+, you will work with an Assistant Coach in your Preparation activity to help you prepare for the Role-play session with your Coach, where you will improve your English communication skills.
To log in again, you will need your username as provided in the invitation email you received from Excedo when you first registered.

You have to complete 4 steps in every module.
First, you need to schedule a time when you will meet your learning partner and your Coach. We recommend you to book as soon as you start every module.
Then, you will learn about a specific business communication skill with bite-sized 5 minute micro-lessons. This part will take you about 90 minutes (around 20 minutes each day). You need to complete all of your lessons before you meet your partner and your Coach.
Next, you will chat with another learner, in the first part of the time you scheduled, to prepare for a role play with your Coach. This part will take you about 30 minutes. If you are learning with Excedo Care+, one of Excedo’s Assistant Coaches will help you prepare.
Finally, you will practice the business communication skill in the Role-Play, facilitated by your Coach. This is the second part of the time you booked and it will take you about 30 minutes in modules 1, 2, and 3, and 45 minutes in module 4. If you are learning with Excedo Care+, it will take you about 30 minutes in all modules.
After each course, your Coach will assess your capability and your confidence to communicate. Your Coach will award you with points.
As you earn points, you will advance your Global Readiness status, which consists of 3 levels and indicates your readiness to work globally.
Gold status – When you reach this level, you have demonstrated the communicative skills and the confidence to work effectively within an international team.
Silver status – At this level, your communicative skills and your confidence are increasing. You’re now able to participate in some international business situations.
Bronze status – At this level, you are demonstrating basic communication skills and overcoming any hesitation to speak.
Role-Play sessions, as well as Preparation, have been designed to be completed in pairs.
If your learning partner can’t make it to the scheduled session, Riku will help you in Preparation and you will work directly with your Coach in your Role-Play.
Role-Play sessions, as well as Preparation, have been designed to be completed 1:1, an Assistant Coach will help you in Preparation and you will work directly with your Coach in your Role-Play.
You can access the lessons that you have already completed through the Library that you will find in your profile screen. Remember that the score you obtained for each module is final and cannot be changed by repeating the lessons.
If you want a quick way to practice the phrases you’ve learnt in each module, you can review the Essentials of each module as many times as you need.
If your partner does not show up within 5 minutes after the meeting starts, Riku will join you in the Preparation activity and help you prepare for the Role-Play.
It is very important that you try to complete the Preparation tasks within 30 minutes.
The session with your Coach will start after 30 minutes whether you finish your Preparation activity or not.
If you’re unable to complete your activity in time, let your Coach know when you meet with them.
Practice a little more by repeating the Recap again.
The Recap helps you to reinforce the knowledge learnt through the module.
In Module 4, you will practice everything you have learnt in the previous modules by applying the communication skills you’ve acquired in a Case Study during your Role-Play.
Practising in a new context will help you improve your confidence and capability to apply your business communication skills learnt with Excedo in real world situations.
In module 4, there is no Preparation activity.
The activities in lessons are self-study. You do these activities on your own.
In Preparation, you will interact with another learner, putting into practice what you have learned during the lessons and preparing for the Role-Play with your Coach.

In Preparation, you will interact with an Assistant Coach, who will help you prepare for the Role-Play with your Coach.
A course consisting of 4 modules should take approximately 10 hours to complete, divided into 2.5 hours of learning per module.
We recommend you to complete 1 module per week, so you can finish your learning programme on time.
If you can’t attend your scheduled session, it is very important that you let Riku know as soon as possible, so that he can assist you with the rescheduling.
Please keep in mind that you can only reschedule once. If you are not able to attend your rescheduled session, you will be moved to the next module.
If you don’t cancel a session on time and don’t show up, you will be allowed to rebook only once.
Try to complete your modules on time and don’t let your learning partner down!
If you can’t finish your lessons on-time, you can let Riku know. If you did not already reschedule your session for the module, Riku will provide you with new session options.
If you don’t ask Riku to rebook, and haven’t completed all of your lessons before starting Preparation, you will be automatically shown new session options.
Please keep in mind that you can only rebook once. If you face another delay before your rescheduled session you will be moved to the next module.
If you have a problem during your Preparation activity or during Role-Play, please contact Riku by going back to the launcher and type “help”.
For each Role-Play session you might have a different Coach, so that you can experience a wide range of accents and nationalities.
All our Coaches are qualified professionals with a range of business experience as well as English language teaching qualifications.
Some of the Coaches are native English speakers, and some are from countries all over the world.
If you have any questions after a session, please contact Riku and he’ll pass your message along to your Coach!
You need a mobile device to use Excedo, including taking part in the Role-Play sessions. Use of computers and laptops is not currently supported.
It’s important to have the latest version of the Excedo app to avoid technical problems and to ensure the best performance.
We highly recommend that you activate auto updates on your device.
This could be associated with a connectivity problem or a phone memory issue. Close the Excedo app, start it again, and access your lesson again.
It is better to use Excedo using a Wi-Fi internet connection.
If you still have problems, please ask Riku for help. Also, you can contact us by shaking your phone or tapping the Support option within the Profile screen.
If you have finished an activity but you are not directed to the next one quickly, please ask Riku to help.
Please note that if you have just completed the Role-Play session your Coach will need to grade you, and this might take up to 5 minutes before you can progress to the next Module.
You can always tell us about the problem by shaking your phone or tapping the Support option in your Profile screen.
Please check the following settings:
・Make sure you have the latest version of the Excedo app
・Make sure that Excedo has access to your camera and microphone.
・Make sure your mobile device isn’t in silent mode.
If you are still having problems please:
・Turn off your smartphone for at least 30 seconds, then restart it
